New Hairdo

When a Grade One-er has a mohawk - it becomes the 'pretty cool' hair-do!

Christmas!

As if we haven't had enough excitement this month, it was finally Christmas!!!

Santa Visit

... And then Santa paid us a visit on Christmas Eve...

Not quite as chatty as in prior years - but nevertheless, it was Santa!  This year he brought a small lego set and Spirograph for Chippy and a playmobil store set for Chippette.

Late Birthday

... And a late birthday party with Lorri and Marc when they arrived!

Cram Christmas!

We had an early Christmas with Grammy and Pa before they left...

Christmas Concert!

Wee M sang in a Christmas Concert at school.  She has been practicing for weeks singing her Happy Hanukkah song, Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer and Jingle Bells!

While Wee M sang, Chippy and his friend Jack played baseball on someone's iPhone ... and so it begins!

Birthday / Nutcracker!

Wee M had her 4th Birthday ... but really, the event of the day was 'Going to the Nutcracker with Melodi!!'!!  They both had been looking forward to this so much!  We picked up Melodi and headed downtown.  They chit-chatted the entire trip.  For a 3 yr old and a newly minted 4 yr old, they were really good - only a little restless at times.  We made it through the entire show and headed home with much more chit-chatting!

Chippy taking selfies at intermission!

Last Day of 3!

Birthday Party!!

Through a bit of luck, we were able to have a birthday party at Linx in Wellesley.  Chippy chose a spy party as the theme.  The kids had to help capture Mr. Bologna -- which included distracting him with popping canisters, toilet papering him, jumping over and under a laser, and playing with glow in the dark snowballs!

They provided the pizza - and Grammy provided the yummy cakes!!

Happy Birthday, Chippy!

At school, they celebrated Chippy's birthday with a birthday pencil, and a white shirt that all his classmates signed.  We went to Bertucci's for dinner and opened presents when we got home.  He asked for Tracey's apple crisp for his birthday cake - but we didn't get to have it until the 11th as the pizza place surprised him with a HUGE piece of chocolate cake!

The top picture is him opening a present after his birthday party - but it shows he got his cast off on Monday!  He is very stiff and can't bend his arm very far one way or the other (update as at end of December - he is getting better at straightening his arm, but has a bit to go in being able to bend his arm in toward his shoulder.)

Last Day of 5!

Patriots or Eagles?

Chippy was feeling pretty good on Sunday, and Mummy happen to get her hands on tickets to the Eagles / Patriots game in Foxborough ... so off Daddy and Chippy went!  Question was - who was Chippy going to root for?  Turns out Daddy's Eagles can't top Tom Brady in Chippy's mind ... Patriots it was!  On the field, however - Eagles won!

Christmas Lights

Here we are putting up the Christmas lights this past weekend in short sleeves!  The Fall is pretty nice in New England! :)

Casts

Chippy is pretty happy with his cast collection!  As of Monday the green one is off and he's good to go!  He doesn't have great range of motion yet - but hopefully that will improve as he uses it.

He thought he might like more casts for Christmas ... but that might be hard for Santa to arrange!

Surgery :(

Chippy had his second surgery of the autumn - tubes in his ears and adenoids out.  The whole process took 3 hours round trip from the house.  He was okay up until they were going to take him in and then he was a bit scared.  Waking up was a little tougher this time ... but the hospital kicked him out as soon as he was awake!  By the time we got back to the house he thought he might be up for a giant frozen yogourt! By dinner time time he was pretty much back to normal!

While in the surgery, his front tooth had to get pulled because it was so loose.  The tooth fairy came DURING the surgery!!
