So, this was from a week ago - our first time at the high school to toboggan. Mummy didn't quite realize the steepness of the one side of this hill and while Chippy quite enjoyed it, Wee M was a bit scared after our first and only trip down! We made our way over to the smaller side of the hill which let Chippy go from the top and Wee M from the middle - much better ... until you have a run away Chippy! No one was hurt in the making of these videos!

Crazy Hair Day
Today was crazy hair day, but this was actually last week's picture. Mommy got the days mixed up and so by last Friday morning wee m had very frizzy hair for a non-crazy hair day! Luckily daddy looked at the calendar before leaving and realized my mistake! We repeated the exercise this week, and she was queen of the crazy hair - however, she was less enthusiastic about it this time around!
The Big Boston Blizzard of '15
I wouldn't just say it's the biggest snow I've ever seen, but we sure did get a lot! The kids had so much fun playing around in the back yard and sledding down our hill! Two days off sure helped, too! We went back to the high school to toboggan, but the snow was still too fresh and too deep to get any real speed going!

A New Years Update
It has been a while since we gave a good update of what the kids are up to. Since they aren't in the 'baby' stage any longer, it is harder to pin down when they are hitting certain milestones!
Chippy remains good-hearted, kind, considerate, and loving Chippy! He is a pretty serious little fellow who likes to be silly on occasion. When not in the 'silly' mood, he is quick to tell us that he doesn't like joking or tricking. He will also recite rules told to him by a grandparent or by his teachers. However, get him and Chipette going and all rules are out the window! He also likes to eat healthy food. He likes his desserts, but he can be talked into eating almost anything if we say it is healthy for him! Sometimes when I ask him his preference, he'll say 'I don't know, whatever you'd like mommy - your choice!'. He also says stuff like, 'I love making puzzles with you, mommy' or 'I love playing lego with you, mommy'! :)
He had a doctors appointment recently and he was 40 pounds. He was having trouble hearing from one ear and a follow-up appointment confirmed that he is still having problems. They are hoping it is allergies, so he is on a medication for a month and then he will go back and they will have another look at it. This was his first appointment at a pediatrician as opposed to a family doctor and they were 100x more thorough in their yearly checkup. He had a whole list of shots he had to get - which seemed like a bit of overkill given all the shots he got during the immigration process, but he is through it now.
Chippy remains addicted to Lego with minimal help being needed on some pretty advanced sets. He still loves to make his own creations which are pretty impressive. Recently, he will open up a case with a specific colour or two and will make something with just those colours.
Besides Lego, he still likes books, doing puzzles, and playing with friends. He has had his first few 'playdates' with his friend Jay this past month. Hopefully when he starts Kindergarten next year his 'playdates' won't have to be quite so formalized as his friends will live a bit closer to us!
Then there is Chipette - a whole other kettle of fish from her brother! She is a funny, funny, funny girl with a very loud voice! Dinner is usually the starting point for most of her shows and performances - likely because she normally doesn't want to eat! At dinner yesterday she decided she didn't want to eat her dinner and proceeded to blow snot at us all. While terribly inappropriate, it is as hard as I've laughed in over a year! Many times we will take away her dinner during one of her inappropriate, mid dinner, monologues/dance/songs and it will be a full 2-3 minutes later before she even realizes it is gone!
She is getting terrifically creative in her stories, songs, and general playing. Recently, her and Chippy have been playing 'Jail' and 'Baby' and 'Ballet' on a regular basis. I think most of the ideas come from her. She is also starting to remember a lot more about things that have happened in the past and will incorporate into what she is doing. She is also starting to understand time. She has started to say, 'Do you remember yesterday when ...' and she will be referring to something that happened anytime in the past year. She also seems to really enjoy music - playing music on her cd player and singing all the time. Chippy and Chipette continue to play very, very well together.
Chipette is also getting terrifically stubborn! She has a high pitched yell that she will elicit when she is not happy with her current situation. She get up on her tip toes, drops her jaw and opens her eyes wide while sort of rolling her eyes up and gives the yell. A bit of a trademark for her! Leave it to Daddy to give in to her, too!
Chipette's speech continues to improve. I think most people can understand most of what she says. Only when she gets into a big story does she then start to run all her words together. She is very patient if I have to ask her 5-6 times to repeat what she is saying to that I can understand her! She is also getting pretty good with her drawing. She is starting to draw specific things by using shapes and separate markings.
Chipette still doesn't like dogs - although she is generally pretty good with Dunning. I think she likes the idea of a dog ... but when confronted by one, the big ones especially are a bit too much for her!
Both Chippy and Chipette are into typecasting people. For Chippy it is all about how old someone is. He is older than Chipette, so there are infinitely more things he can do or help with. For Chipette it's about 'we girls', so her and I have to stick together against the boys!
Chipette had her doctors appointment as well. I think she was slightly over 30 lbs (32?) and didn't have to get as many shots as Chippy. She had difficulty with one of the vision tests (depth perception test?) that they will try again when she is a little older.
